Zhang Jiemin: Resident conductor of Shanghai Symphony Orchestra.

 

Jiemin Has conducted Venice Opera House (Teatro La fenice), Napoli Opera House (Teatro San Carlo), Catania Opera House (Teatro Massimo Bellini), Salerno Opera House, Rome Symphony orchestra , National Orchestra Capital Du Toulouse. Istanbul Symphony Orchestra. Latvia National Opera House. Madrid youth orchestra, Hongkong Philharmonic, China Philharmonic, Shanghai Philharmonic, National Opera House

 

She is the first woman conductor who conducted Opera’s in both La Fenice and San Carlo opera House in Opera season, and her Opera DVD Cavalleria Rusticana with San Carlo opera house was released in 2008 and broadcast by RAI . In 2021 Jiemin was awarded The class of Commander with The order of the Knighthood of the Star of Italy. (Ordine Stella D’Italia Commendatore)

 

She has conducted Carmen, Turandot, La Boheme, Madam Butterfly, La Traviata, Rigoletto, Aida, Otello, Cavalleria Rusticana, La serva padrona, Barber of Seville,The Magic Flute, Romeo and Juliette…

She began to study piano and percussion at the age of 7, andgraduated in orchestral conducting and composition at Shanghai Conservatory of Music in 1995.

After conducting Carmen at Shanghai Spring Festival in 1997 and Carmen, La Bohème at the Latvian National Opera in Riga, she continued her activities in several Chinese theatres.
